Rising Lotus Kid Profile: Susma

Uncategorized   /

Name: Susma
Age: 12

Susma is the oldest girl at Rising Lotus and the one of the most studious of the whole bunch. When she comes home she heads straight for the books. Sometimes when the other kids are getting into bed she’s still finishing up her homework. Her dedication and efforts sure pay off, she’s number 2 in her class!

We asked her once if she likes going to school and she replied with a huge grin that she likes school days better than her holidays.

When she’s home at Rising Lotus, she’s the big sister. She looks after the younger girls and makes sure they do their homework and helps them get ready for school. But at school Susma gets to hang out with her friends and other kids her own age.

Susma is also very coordinated. The children are partial to two games in particular here. One game is like jacks but with small pencil sharpeners and erasers. The other game is like hacky sack, but with a loose bundle of rubber bands. Susma destroys at both games. Her skills and quick agility are nothing short of impressive. Volunteer Metha Skylab once counted her doing 400 kicks to the rubber band ball without dropping it. The most he had observed any of the other kids kick it was 30 times. Nice, Susma!!!

Susma says that one day her dream is to go to America. With her talent and dedication, our hope is that she’ll be able to go wherever and do whatever her bright, beautiful heart desires.
