Organic Farm Visit and Workshop

Happy Sunday friends and family! We want to share the happiness that we experienced yesterday thanks to a dear friend of RLCV: Sanjay Chandra Shrestha and the Tapain Hamro Krisi Farm. 🌱👩‍🌾🌱👨‍🌾🌱

On what was our first agriculture workshop and field trip, eight of our girls were treated to an immersive experience in organic farming. We were given a full tour throughout the farm, observing dozens of plant species, plucking fresh carrots, learning how seedlings are grown, exploring the "black rooms" where Shitake mushrooms are cultivated in hazelnut logs, and strolled tomato gardens. 🍅🥕🍄

After the tour, the fun was taken to the next level when we got our hands nice and dirty, creating a fresh garden bed for spring onions! 👩‍🌾🌱

The field trip commenced with a delicious vegetarian meal all made from vegetables harvested on the farm! Our director Mr. Nate even tried the famous Nepali ghost peppers in spite of the girls better advice 🌶️🌋

RLCV is honored to be the first group to experience a Tapain Hamro Krisi Farm workshop. Our girls learned so much in these hours about where our food comes from and the importance of healthy eating all while having a blast. We could not be more thankful to our hosts and are already looking forward to our next visit! 🙏😁

Here's to all the agriculturalists and educators out there educating a generation of environmentally conscious citizens ♻️🌏🌳
