Happy New Year 2024 !!!

Happy New Years Eve Friends and Family!

As 2023 draws to a close, we take a moment to contemplate the transformative year that unfolded. We express deep appreciation for the support we received and the significant milestones we achieved, made possible by the committed financial assistance of benevolent patrons across the globe. The feat we are most grateful for is the successful relocation to our new facility this past autumn — a historic feat in our organization's 17-year journey. Below, we present our proudest moments of 2023 showcasing our impact.

2023 Highlights:

New Building Milestone
In April, we commenced construction on the long-envisioned RLCV facility, followed by a
final fundraising campaign in August that successfully concluded the project in October. The facility now offers amenities such as heated showers, insulated rooms, expanded recreational spaces, a new library, and, most importantly, it has provided stability by establishing a long-term secure home for our 32 girls and staff. They have completed the move and couldn't be happier!

New Partnerships - Pokharise Environmental Education Excursion
We partnered with Environmental, Gender, and Education organizations in helping secure a Davis Projects for Peace grant. This successful funding helped launch the first ever
Pokharise Environmental Education Experience — with long time partners KEEP Nepal — seeing five of our RLCV girls take part. The project saw public school girls from across Kathmandu experience mountain trekking for the first time, guided by experts in cultural, environmental education, and teambuilding workshops. Environmental clubs are currently being designed as a legacy impact of the program.

Academic Excellence
In April,
we celebrated all 28 of our girls passing their annual exams and move up to the next grade level, with over 80% of the girls achieving a 3.0 GPA. Two of our RLCV girls finished top of their class.

Supporting More Children
In May, we increased the number of girls served to 32, welcoming seven new girls in need from across Nepal. We saw three of our class 10 girls returning to their home regions to complete their last year of studies.

Connecting with Supporters around the World
December saw the launch of the
third annual Rising Lotus Pen Pal Program, with 30 supporters writing holiday letters to the RLCV girls. The girls wrote their letters back just yesterday – See our Instagram post!

New Everest Sponsors
We secured two new private ‘Everest donor partnerships’, each providing enough funding to fully support one child’s annual care.

Looking forward

Now, as we look forward to 2024, we kindly ask you take a moment to consider making a financial contribution which ensures we can continue our work. This can take the form of an Annual Sponsorship or a One-time Contribution. Our continued impact – providing education access and a nurturing home to girls who come from extreme poverty; and thus, bright futures – is only possible through the financial support of private donors like you who share our passion for uplifting those most in need.

As we rely on word-of-mouth recommendations, we ask you to share the good news of our work with family, friends, and anyone with whom you think our mission resonates. Through action, we bring change which enriches the lives of others. We ask you to consider acting in whatever way is feasible for you to support our life-giving work.

As we close the year, we again want to thank each and every person who gave of their time, affection, or hard-earned income to make a difference in the life of a child, be it with us at Rising Lotus or through any other organization.

We wish you and your loved one’s blessings of good health and fulfillment in 2024.

Lots of love and namaste,
RLCV Directors – Tracy, Hari and Nate
