Hari Prasad Sharma

Hari Prasad Sharma is the Co-founder and Operational Director at our Rising Lotus campus in Kirtipur, Nepal. Hari has served as guardian and protector of each and every child at Rising Lotus since its founding in 2005. Hari grew up experiencing the hardships of poverty with his father passing away at an early age. His mother was left to raise him and his older sister without an education or employment of her own. Hari has always been resilient, working his whole adolescence to save for higher education. He taught himself English working as a hotel concierge where he befriended Tracy in 1990.

Hari's life calling was always to dedicate his life to providing better lives for children who experience the same hardships as himself. Hari works tirelessly in ensuring the girls have all they need to flourish. He believes education is the gateway to a bright future and ensures each of our children give their all to their studies.

Hari's work entails supporting staff at our Children's Village, working closely with often government entities of Kathmandu to ensure our organization operates with the utmost integrity and that the well-being of our children is continually ensured. Hari also spends time with community members of mountainous rural villages to identify orphaned children who might benefit from placement at Rising Lotus as space in our program becomes available. Hari lives in Kirtipur, Nepal with his wife Bishnu. He is father to two loving sons Benjamin and Brian.
